Jadeveon Clowney will wear a new number for his new team.

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the defensive end will wear No. 42 for the first time in his career with the Dallas Cowboys.

Clowney wore No. 90 for the first five years of his career with the Houston Texans, and kept that number when he joined the Seattle Seahawks in 2019. He switched to No. 99 with the Tennessee Titans in 2020 before going back to No. 90 with the Cleveland Browns. He’s also worn No. 24 with the Baltimore Ravens and most recently wore No. 7 with the Carolina Panthers.

After going unsigned this offseason, Clowney signed a one-year deal worth up to $6 million with the Cowboys on Sunday.

Clowney the former No. 1 overall pick in 2014, is hoping to find some stability after bouncing between a few teams over the last few years. The 32-year-old had a decent season in Carolina last year, recording 46 tackles, 5.5 sacks and nine tackles for loss.

His first test with the Cowboys will come against the Chicago Bears on Sunday.
