Roma have suffered a significant injury blow ahead of the Easter Sunday Serie A clash with Inter Milan, with Brazil wing-back Wesley leaving the national team camp after sustaining a muscle injury to the back of his right thigh.

The injury occurred during Brazil’s 2-1 friendly defeat to France, with Wesley forced to withdraw from the squad immediately afterwards.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, his participation in the Inter fixture looks extremely unlikely if the muscle tear is confirmed by further clinical assessment.

Further tests will take place in the coming days to verify the status of his injury.
