Ian Holt and Alistair Docherty are headed to the PGA Tour in 2027, locking up two of the 20 available cards through the Korn Ferry Tour after very different paths finally delivered the same result.
For Holt, the breakthrough came fast.

The 30-year-old former Kent State standout won two of the first three Korn Ferry Tour events of 2026, first taking the Bahamas Great Abaco Classic at 12-under and then winning the Panama Championship at 8-under.
That second victory made Holt the first player in Korn Ferry Tour history to win twice within the first three events of a season.
He never gave the field much of a chance to catch him after that.
Holt stayed near the top of the season-long points race and added more strong finishes, including a top-10 at the Utah Championship.

His rise was especially notable considering he finished just 42nd on the 2025 Korn Ferry Tour Points List after working his way back from PGA Tour Americas.
His 2026 performance also earned him a special exemption into the PGA Championship, giving him another taste of the level he’ll now play on full-time.
Docherty’s road was much more of a grind.
The 32-year-old finished one shot behind Holt at the Great Abaco Classic, then broke through for his first Korn Ferry Tour victory at the 119 Visa Argentina Open.
Docherty went wire-to-wire and birdied the 72nd hole to finish at 22-under 258, a win that vaulted him into serious PGA Tour position.

He backed that up with a steady season and nearly added another victory in August, losing the Pinnacle Bank Championship in a playoff to Frankie Harris.
For Docherty, the card carries some extra weight. He finished only two spots outside PGA Tour status in 2024 and later missed another opportunity at Q-School by a single stroke.
This time, there’s no heartbreak.
Holt and Docherty join Doc Redman and Ross Steelman among the Korn Ferry Tour players who have already clinched PGA Tour membership for 2027.

With the Korn Ferry Tour Finals underway and only 20 cards available, the pressure is rising for everyone else.
