The 118th edition of the Monte-Carlo Masters ATP is underway at the Monte Carlo Country Club since Monday, April 7. It is the first ATP 1000 clay event of the season.
In the first week, Monte Carlo has already sprung a few surprises. Novak Djokovic, chasing his 100th title, was stunned 6-3, 6-4 by World No 32 Alejandro Tabilo of Chile in the round of 32. Earlier, top seed Alexander Zverev fell 6-2, 3-6, 5-7 to Matteo Berrettini.
Of the surviving stars, Carlos Alcaraz, Casper Ruud and Stefanos Tsitsipas have all made the round of 16. Tsitsipas is the defending champion, having beaten Ruud 6-1, 6-4 in the 2024 final.
