- Artist Stefan Marjoram shows you how to draw a Ford GT40.
- His YouTube channel features tons of similar drawing tutorials on lots of different vehicles.
- Stefan is also a talented photographer and filmmaker.
Stefan Marjoram is a photographer, filmmaker, and artist. That last bit should be obvious when you see what he uploads to his personal YouTube channel. Stefan has a handful of automotive drawing tutorials that make his work easy to understand.
The latest subject from Marjoram is the legendary Ford GT40. Like basically every vehicle Stefan draws, it all starts with the most important part: the tires.
From there, Marjoram quickly begins to develop the rest of the vehicle with his pen. The Ford GT40 starts to take shape courtesy of its front and rear fender lines. Next comes the low roof, and the iconic silhouette appears before you.
A sketch like this takes skill to do well, of course. But Stefan has a way of explaining his work that makes it feel quite easy to follow along. Your finished version probably won’t come out quite as cleanly, but I bet you’ll do a better job than you initially expect.
If the Ford GT40 isn’t your cup of tea, Stefan has many other drawing tutorials on his YouTube channel. From boxy vintage off-roaders to modern Formula One race cars, there’s something for everyone in there.
And if you don’t feel like grabbing a pad of paper and a pencil, the videos themselves are a wonderful way to zone out for a few minutes.
Motor1’s Take: Stefan’s channel is a must-subscribe for fans of automotive artwork. His calm delivery, paired with the quality sketches, provides a welcome escape from the less soothing corners of the Internet.
