The Laver Cup returns for its ninth edition in 2026.
Team Europe and Team World will square off at London’s O2 Arena at the end of September.
Some of the finest men’s players in the world will take part on both sides, with everyone slated to take part ranked inside the ATP top 25.
However, world rankings are not the only means of winning a place at the Laver Cup.
Here’s how the selection process works.
How do players qualify for the Laver Cup?
A total of 12 players — six per team — will compete in the Laver Cup.
Six spots were automatically awarded to the three highest-ranked players on each team the day after the French Open men’s singles final.
The remaining six slots are captain’s picks, which were decided before the start of the US Open.
Yannick Noah (Europe) and Andre Agassi (World) return as team captains in 2026, having taken charge last year when Team World won 15-9 at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Player lineups were updated following the withdrawals of Ben Shelton and Tommy Paul on Team World. Cerundolo and Nakashima were named as their respective replacements.
When is the 2026 Laver Cup?
The 2026 Laver Cup is scheduled for September 25-27
It is the second time it will take place at London’s O2 Arena, following the 2022 edition.
