Chelsea’s season is officially going from bad to worse at Brighton.

The hosts took a quickfire lead as Ferdi Kadıoğlu converted a Pascal Groß to pile on the misery to Liam Rosenior’s side which also exposed another worrying flaw.

It was the earliest time that the Blues have shipped a Premier League goal directly since December 2003, when Roman Abramovich’s ownership was in its infancy.

If that didn’t make grim enough reading, they have also equalled a club record for the most goals conceded from corners in a top-flight campaign, which stood for 31 years.

Worse still, BBC Sport claim Chelsea have now conceded eight goals  in the first 15 minutes of games this season – a feat only beaten by two relegation candidates.

That Champions League qualification spot feels like it’s ebbing away game by game.
