It’s so obvious he’s the one to replace Mo Salah at Liverpool, and he just confirmed he’s ready.

The Egyptian’s departure at the end of the season marks the emotional close of a defining era for the Reds.

For nearly a decade, Salah has been the heartbeat of the club’s attack, a constant source of goals and someone to carry the burden of being this team’s superstar – rarely even being injured.

Week after week, season after season, Salah delivered moments that lifted the club to the highest level, helping to shape one of the most successful periods in its modern history.

Salah wasn’t a player who faded in and out, he was relentlessly elite. Whether Liverpool were chasing titles or rebuilding, he remained their most reliable weapon, capable of turning games in an instant.

Players like that don’t come around often, and when they leave, they leave a massive gaping void that is impossible to fill.

Replacing him, in truth just isn’t feasible. You cannot simply sign another Salah.

And yet, that is the task facing Richard Hughes and Liverpool’s recruitment team.

It’s an enormous challenge, one that will likely require multiple signings and a shift in approach.

They may never truly replace Salah, but they still have to try. This is what Hughes was hired for after all.

The only possible way you can replace Salah is through the aggregate. Liverpool won’t sign a like-for-like player because he doesn’t exist.

But it’s clear that what Liverpool have been building towards already is replacing Salah’s numbers and creativity with the likes of Alexander Isak, who will hopefully deliver the source of goals and Florian Wirtz, who will create chances and make this team more open.

Obviously someone is going to have to fill the void on the right-wing as well. Liverpool are going to have to bring in at least one winger who can play that role, if not more.

Who that winger will be is a difficult decision. Liverpool are ready to sign a lot of project wingers like Yan Diomande, who would be an excellent addition.

But Liverpool also need experience, someone who knows the Premier League inside and out and knows how to deliver.

For this, there isn’t anyone better on the market than Jarrod Bowen. Jurgen Klopp was a huge fan of him and the West Ham attacker has always been able to deliver consistently season after season – just like Salah.

Bowen’s performance against Wolves on Friday night confirmed he’s ready to be the club’s Salah replacement.

In a must-win game, where West Ham needed their stars to deliver, Bowen did exactly that. He registered two assists and played a pivotal role in the 4-0 victory which helped the Hammers claw their way out of the relegation zone at least temporarily.

Bowen is now on 16 goal contributions this season in the Premier League. Only five players have more than him – Antoine Semenyo, Erling Haaland, Igor Thiago, Joao Pedro and Bruno Fernandes.

The fact that Bowen has been able to do this for a side competing at the very bottom of the league, shows you just how good he is.

On paper, he feels like the one, the almost guaranteed certainty to replace Salah as the experienced and reliable figurehead on Liverpool’s right-flank.
