Over the past seven months, Cameron Young has quickly become one of the top players in the sport, finally putting it all together.

The American was part of the Ryder Cup team in September and has collected a few big wins since last Summer to vault into the top five of the Official World Golf Ranking. Now, it appears Young has been able to play to his talent level, allowing him to consistently compete in majors.

Since 2022, Young has participated in every major tournament, at times putting himself in the mix and at times ending those tournaments without much of an impact. Here’s a look at how Young has performed in majors over his career.

Has Cameron Young won a major?

Young has never won a major, but he has finished in the top 10 of a major five different times. However, Young has also missed the cut at six different major starts, producing a very uneven resume at golf’s biggest events.

Young’s best performance came at the 2022 British Open, when he finished second to Cameron Smith with a score of -19 at St. Andrew’s in Scotland. The American opened that event as the leader with an opening-round 64, then closed the tournament strong with a 65 on Sunday.

Has Cameron Young won on a PGA Tour event?

Cameron Young turned pro in 2019, but didn’t get his first PGA Tour win until 2025 when he took home the Wyndham Championship. In fact, he became the 1,000th unique golfer to win a PGA Tour event in its existence.
