Manchester City will welcome Salford City at the Etihad Stadium this Saturday as they look to secure a good result at home in the FA Cup. The Mancunian giants managed to earn an impressive 3-0 win over Fulham recently, which should keep them in good spirits going into this game.

Pep Guardiola will set his men up in a 4-3-3 formation and could make a lot of changes to his first team for this contest. Nico Gonzalez, John Stones and Tijjani Reijnders could all play from the start of this game.

Defence

James Trafford will play in between the sticks for Man City as he looks to keep a clean sheet at the Etihad Stadium this week. Abdukodir Khusanov will operate alongside John Stones at the centre of Guardiola’s defence as they look to keep a solid shape when defending inside their half.

Rico Lewis will try to put in a good performance as the right-back, while Rayan Ait-Nouri looks to prove his worth on the other flank as the left-back. Both of them will try to go forward and express themselves inside the opponent’s half.

Ruben Dias and Marc Guehi will be rested on the bench as they provide cover for the defensive positions.

Midfield

Nico O’Reilly, Tijjani Reijnders and Nico Gonzalez will make up Man City‘s midfield. Their main focus would be to establish their superiority over the opposition in the middle of the park and orchestrate some decent chances in the final third.

Rodri and Bernardo Silva will make up the numbers on the bench as they wait for their chance to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if needed.

Attack

Antoine Semenyo will hope to put his pace to good use on the left flank, while Rayan Cherki looks to prove his value as the right-sided wide player.

Omar Marmoush will lead the charge for the Mancunian giants up top. He would be eager to find the back of the net versus Salford City this weekend.

Erling Haaland is unlikely to recover in time for this game. However, Phil Foden will be available for selection on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the final quarter if required.
