ST. CLOUD — The Willmar girls golf team came home Thursday with a title in the 16-team St. Cloud Invitational at St. Cloud Country Club.

The Cardinals shot a 335 to beat second-place St. Michael-Alberville by eight strokes. New London-Spicer finished eighth with a 371.

Willmar’s Kennedy Mara and Lucia Martin Rodriguez finished in the top six. Mara shot a 77, four strokes off the pace of St. Michael-Albertville’s Abigail Labrador, who won medalist honors with a 73. Martin Rodriguez tied for sixth with an 82.

NLS’ top finisher was Layna Carlson,who tied for 16th with an 88. The Wildcats’ Rylie Harrier tied for 19th with an 89.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s was the boys champion with 293. Wayzata was second with 309 and Breck was third with 310. BSM’s Colin Hastings and Braydon Pulcanio tied for medalist honors with 71s.

New London-Spicer placed eighth out of 19 teams with 315. Blake Kath led the Wildcats with a 77, tying for 14th. Willmar was 11th with 319. Luke Larson led the Cardinals after tying for 10th with a 76.

Paynesville wound up third with Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City in sixth, Litchfield in seventh and Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa in ninth in the 13-team Ken Heiling Invitational at Kimball Golf Club.

Annandale won with a 339, two strokes better than Dassel-Cokato and eight strokes less than Paynesville. ACGC had a 360 and Litchfield a 361. BBE finished with a 373.

Annandale’s Gavin Dahle shot a 76 for medalist honors. Paynesville’s Dylan and Isaac Christesen each shot 79s to tie for second with Glencoe-Silver Lake’s Kade Huepenbecker.

Dawson-Boyd swept the Camden Conference North Division meet at Valley Golf Course in Willmar.

The Blackjack boys scored a 155, beating Lac qui Parle Valley’s 162. Dawson-Boyd’s Evan Mork tied for second with Central Minnesota Christian’s Carter Taatjes with a nine-hole score of 37. Lac qui Parle Valley’s Noah Arndt was the medalist with a 36.

Dawson-Boyd’s girls put up a score of 156, besting Community Christian School’s 180. The Blackjacks’ Lindsey Lund was the medalist with 36. She beat teammate Alyssa Swedzinski by a stroke.

Led by Carson Boe’s two-under par 34, the Lakeview boys won the team title in a Camden Conference South Division meet at Tracy Country Club.

The Lakers had 167 points on the nine-hole course, beating Minneota’s 171. Boe’s score beat Renville County West’s Ryan Schrupp. He was second after an even-par 36.

Tracy-Milroy-Balaton’s Taylor Munson was the girls’ medalist with a 45. There were no team scores.
