“Waiting for injury update” news days are the worst. At least this particular situation is 1) a Saturday after a big Thursday win 2) has plenty of exciting highlights from said win to dig through. I’ve been enjoying reading more about how Shanahan is using “rounded motions” with Kyle Juszczyk, all the ways he was sending random players to chip Myles Garrett, and the different superhero plays that Fred Warner was making all game.

49ers vs. Rams PFF grades: Best and worst from the game, plus snap counts
“Right tackle Colton McKivitz’s 75.1 offensive grade was the highest among 49ers offensive linemen, while left guard Connor Colby’s 53.5 offensive grade was the lowest.”

Kawakami: The 49ers’ obsession, commitment, and triumphant Australia Plan (paywall)
“We’ll see what happens next; maybe the 49ers will fall into a funk after spending so much time in Australia and expending so much energy to get this win. But they’ve got two extremely winnable home games in the next two weeks (Miami and Arizona) before the season starts to get serious again.

I’d imagine that we probably won’t really know much more about the 49ers’ full-season biorhythms until the Oct. 11 game in Seattle. That’s when we’ll probably really know if the 49ers played this 100% right or are set to go through some body-clock payback.”

49ers enjoy family reunion in rout of Rams: ‘It felt like I never left’ (paywall)
“During the 16-hour flight to Australia, the 49ers had strict instructions on when to sleep, how many ounces of fluids to drink, when to put their window shades up and how often to slip on blue-light glasses.

After rolling over their division rivals, the plan for the flight back was more simple.

“Party it up,” Warner said.”

49ers’ game review: How Kyle Shanahan dinked, dunked and KO’d the Rams’ vaunted defense (paywall)
“Shanahan uses Juszczyk in motion creatively. On Thursday, Juszczyk was often aligned as a tight end before he looped across the line of scrimmage, often running a half circle, allowing him to have a running head start as a 235-pound lead blocker.

On the 49ers’ first offensive snap, Juszczyk lined up outside Williams, went in motion and led the way for a running back Christian McCaffrey’s 6-yard burst up the middle. Six plays later, Juszczyk on the right side, ran across the formation and cleared out safety Kam Curl on a 5-yard screen to running back Kaelon Black on the left side.

Juszczyk’s banana-shaped motions created social-media buzz. But they aren’t new. In fact, Juszczyk was doing it against the Rams last season in a loss in November. After the in-motion Juszczyk looped around QB Mac Jones, who was in shotgun formation, to serve a full-speed lead blocker on an 11-yard run, Fox analyst Tom Brady commented on Shanahan’s play design.

“In 25 years of watching football, I’ve never seen that exact concept,” Brady said.”

49ers signed Kyle Shanahan to an extension this offseason
“The previously unreported move was revealed by Tom Pelissero of The Ringer and Netflix on Friday following the 49ers’ win over the Los Angeles Rams in Melbourne.”
