With the (real) start of the 2026 regular season in the National Football League now just a day away, we know that a lot of you are getting excited to see our favorite team take the field. We also know. . .because we’re not completely naive. . .that at least some of you are excited for some other reasons that have to do with the money that you may or may not be wagering on games around the league, whether they involve the Minnesota Vikings or not.
In conjunction with our friends from the FanDuel Sportsbook, we’re going to be attempting to lend a hand on that front, as yours truly will be looking at a couple of the prop bets available for the game the purple are involved in each week. You can take these with as many grains of salt as you deem necessary. . .after all, you’ve watched me pick games for the last few years. But, hopefully, if you do decide to take my advice on any of these it will work out in a positive way for you. You can find all of these figures at the link above.

First Touchdown: Jauan Jennings (+1700)
I’m sure a lot of people are going to be leaning toward Justin Jefferson or Jordan Mason or something like that, and I wouldn’t blame you if you wanted to look in that direction, too. But Jennings did have nine touchdowns for San Francisco last season, and seven of those nine came from inside of 20 yards. He’s a significant red zone threat, and with the extra attention that Jefferson is almost certainly going to receive from the Green Bay defense, he could very easily take advantage.
Or, if you’re feeling extra spicy, Max Bredeson is there at +10000. The Vikings’ last touchdown of 2025 was scored by C.J. Ham. You tell me that a fullback run is completely off the table if this offense gets the ball to the 1-yard line.
Justin Jefferson Receiving Yardage: Over 73.5 (-114)

What. . .you mean by, like, halftime? I know that the one thing anyone is concerned with is whether or not this offense gets the ball to #18. I’m sure the Packers are concerned about it, too. I’m just not sure how much the Packers are going to be able to do about it. The expectations are high for Jefferson this season, so why not get it off to a high-flying start?
Spread/Points Parlay: Vikings -1.5 and Under 45.5 points (+280)
The Vikings are favored to win this one at home, and they should be. I don’t see them winning in blowout fashion or anything, but they should certainly be able to cover a spread that’s less than a field goal. As far as the point total, the Packers have some injury issues on the offensive line, they won’t have Josh Jacobs for this one, and their receivers. . .well, they don’t exactly frighten anyone. I think the point total should stay under that 45.5 number it’s currently sitting at.
Those are my takes for this one, folks. Are there any wagers that you’ve currently got your eye on?
