Gervonta Davis returns to the Barclays Center for the first time since 2022 on March 1. He defends the WBA lightweight title against Lamont Roach. It airs on Prime Video PPV in the U.S.

Davis (30-0) got promoted to full-time champion status after holding the “Regular” belt since 2019. A three-division champion, “Tank” has won all but two fights via knockout. It is only his second fight after taking out Ryan Garcia in 2023.

Roach (25-1-1) is the WBA super featherweight champion, moving up in weight for this opportunity. The 29-year-old is on a six-fight win streak. He is a former sparring partner of Davis, going 0-2 against him at the amateur level.

Given his history with Davis and his championship status, Roach believes he has an edge against “Tank,” at least compared to previous opponents.

“The IQ and the skillset that I have, compared to everyone else that he’s fought, it’s just levels above. The tenacity that I’m gonna combine with it, is definitely something he’s not used to. I’m bringing the total package,” Roach said during a media workout.

Various titles are on the line on the Gervonta Davis vs. Lamont Roach undercard, which also features former champions and rising contenders.

Williams (29-4-1) is a former WBA and IBF super welterweight champion. After failing to capture super welterweight gold against Jermall Charlo, he went on a five-fight win streak, claiming the unified title against Jarrett Hurd. “J Rock” has since gone 2-3 in his past five fights and is 2-1 in his previous three.
