Mike Sposa, who won the 1998 Nike Boise Open on the then-Nationwide Tour, has advanced to the Round of 32 at the 2025 U.S. Senior Amateur.
Sposa, of Spartanburg, South Carolina, beat Todd White, also from Spartanburg 2 and 1 on Monday at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio.
Sposa, 56, is one of 11 golfers to make a hole-in-one at the famous 16th hole at TPC Scottsdale, home of the WM Phoenix Open, doing so in 2002.
He never won on the PGA Tour but competed in 174 events and earned $1.9 million. On the now-Korn Ferry Tour, Sposa played 16 tournaments and made $380,000. He was a member of the 1991 U.S. Walker Cup team.
