Once again, the Travelers Championship won’t lack for star power when it tees off in Cromwell this summer.

Former Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama, the current No. 7 player in the world, Russell Henley (No. 8) and Maverick McNealy (No. 10) all announced commitments to the Travelers on Wednesday, giving the event commitments from each of the top 10 players in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Matsuyama, 33, won the 2021 Masters, and gave golf a memorable moment when his caddie bowed to the course at Augusta after placing the flag back in the hole on the 18th green.

The Sendai, Japan, native has 11 career wins on tour, and has played at the Travelers in each of the past two years, finishing tied for 13th in 2023 and tied for 23rd last season.

Henley, 36, will be making his eighth start at TPC River Highlands. His best finish came in 2018, when he tied for sixth. McNealy, 29, played at the Travelers in 2021 and ’22, with his best finish a tie for 30th in ’21.

“This is exciting because it means every player in the top 10 of the world ranking has committed to play in this year’s Travelers Championship. We work hard to get the best player field possible because it helps the tournament, and it gives fans the opportunity to see all the best athletes in one place – something that rarely happens in sports,” said Travelers Executive Vice President Andy Bessette. “Hideki, Russell and Maverick have all won tournaments on the PGA TOUR the past six months. We’re thrilled they’re coming, and we’re looking forward to adding many more great players to this year’s field.”

The three join previously announced Scottie Scheffler (1), Rory McIlroy (2), Xander Schauffele (3), Collin Morikawa (4), Justin Thomas (5), Ludvig Aberg (6) and Viktor Hovland (9) plus No. 15 Wyndham Clark. The tournament is June 19-22.
