The Philadelphia Flyers have recalled defenseman Helge Grans on an emergency basis from the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, their American Hockey League affiliate (AHL).

With defenseman Emil Andrae officially ruled out for their game against the Colorado Avalanche, it makes sense that Grans is getting a shot on the NHL roster.

Grans, 22, has played in 14 games this season with the Phantoms, where he has one goal, three points, and a minus-4 rating. In 56 games with the AHL squad last season, the 6-foot-3 defender had one goal and seven assists.
Grans will now look to impress while with the NHL squad from here.
