Floyd Mayweather Jr. is now a boxing legend, famously the owner of 50 wins in all 50 of his professional fights.
Lesser known, however, is that the longtime fighter grew up in a family full of boxers. Long before the Grand Rapids, Michigan, native became one of the most recognizable figures in sports, he had the guidance of three professional boxers in his family already.
Nowadays, as Mayweather approaches 50, he has four of his own children, as well. While Mayweather’s journey began as a high school dropout who pursued the same profession, boxing, as his father and three uncles, his kids have taken up their own endeavors in recent years.

Here’s a full breakdown of Mayweather’s family tree, from his four biological children and adopted son to the former boxers in his family.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. daughter: ‘Yaya’ Mayweather
Mayweather has two daughters, the eldest of whom is Iyanna “Yaya” Mayweather. Yaya’s mother is Mayweather’s former girlfriend, Melissa Brim, while his other three children are with another former girlfriend, Josie Harris. The mother of Mayweather’s adopted son, Devion, is also Brim.
“Yaya” Mayweather was born in May 2000. Throughout her childhood, her father was known to spend a lot on her with his boxing money, including buying a Rolls-Royce in 2015 so “his 14-year-old daughter can ride in style,” TMZ reported. Two years later, TMZ also reported that Floyd Mayweather Jr. managed to get Drake and Future to perform for “Yaya’s” Sweet 16 birthday party in Las Vegas.
In 2018, “Yaya” Mayweather released her first single as a rapper, “Oh Okay,” under the name “Money Yaya,” a remix of a Gunna song. However, she hasn’t released any music since.
Relationship with NBA Youngboy
“Yaya” Mayweather began dating rapper NBA Youngboy in 2019. The couple’s relationship has been in the headlines for an altercation that Mayweather got into outside the rapper’s home in Houston in 2020, but they also went on to welcome a son.
Mayweather and NBA Youngboy’s son, Kentrell DeSean Gaulden Jr., was born in January 2021, which also made Floyd Mayweather Jr. a grandfather. Mayweather said of “Yaya” in 2020 that he just “wants the best” for his daughter, and he tries to “not get in her personal business.”

‘Yaya’ Mayweather stabbing incident
In April 2020, “Yaya” got into an altercation with Lapattra Jacobs, who is the mother of one of NBA Youngboy’s children, outside of the rapper’s house in Houston. During the incident, Mayweather attacked and cut Jacobs with a knife. Jacobs suffered two lacerations on her arm and was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Mayweather was arrested for felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and in 2022, she pleaded guilty in court over the incident. She was sentenced to six years probation, and after that, “she will have no felony conviction and the case will be dismissed,” her lawyer Kent Schaffer told People.com.
“Although we believe that Iyanna was defending herself after being attacked, we thought this was the safest resolution for her,” Schaffer told People.com. “This is especially true since her boyfriend and his bodyguards refused to testify, probably due to their own legal problems.”
Floyd Mayweather Jr. sons
Mayweather has three kids with his ex-girlfriend, Harris, two of which are sons.
Koraun Mayweather
Mayweather’s oldest child is Koraun, who was born in November 1999.
Koraun Mayweather said in 2017 that he wasn’t really into boxing growing up, sometimes attending fights but mostly finding other ways to spend time with his father.
“We just hang out. We either watch a movie or something or go bowling,” Koraun Mayweather told USA Today. “I find (boxing) boring. It is just like how people sit in the ring and fight for 12 rounds, and it gets boring after a while. Sometimes they run.”
Koraun also has pursued a music career. In 2018, he released a single called “RACK$” under the name “King Koraun.”
Mayweather has also released an album titled “A King’s Party” in 2020 and another single titled “Never Broke Again” in 2023.
Koraun Mayweather has over 320,000 followers on Instagram. Although he didn’t show much interest in boxing as a kid, his father posted a video of the two training together in 2020:
Zion Shamaree Mayweather
Mayweather’s second son, Zion Shamaree Mayweather, was born in April 2001. Just like Iyanna, the longtime boxer threw Zion a massive 16th birthday party in Las Vegas, that time getting rapper Young Thug to perform, per TMZ.
Zion and Mayweather’s other children attended public school growing up. The undefeated boxer said in 2022 that he thought public school is “more like the real world,” while private schools are more like “boot camp.”
For the past few years, Zion Mayweather has focused on the clothing line he started, “Philthy Rich Boys.”
Devion Cromwell
Mayweather chose to become the legal guardian to Birm’s child from a previous relationship, Devion Cromwell, who was born in June 1996.
Not much is known about Cromwell, but he describes himself as an entrepreneur on his Instagram, where he has over 20,000 followers.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. daughter: Jirah Mayweather
Mayweather’s youngest child is Jirah Mayweather, who was born to him and Harris in June 2003. Jirah was known to compete in cheerleading growing up, with her father sharing her journey in 2020 on social media.
“I’m so proud of you! God has truly blessed me with a beautiful angel! Keep working hard and always know you can accomplish anything you put your mind to,” Mayweather wrote. “You will always be a winner in my eyes and if God forbid you ever fall, just know your Father will always be there to pick you up!”
In 2020, Josie Harris, the mother of Jirah, Koraun, and Zion, died from an accidental overdose. Jirah shared her troubles with adjusting to life with Mayweather later in 2020, to which Mayweather responded on Instagram by telling her, “you can accomplish anything you set your mind to,” per the Shade Room.
going from a parent who put ur happiness before theirs to a parent who puts their happiness before yours is probably one of the most frustrating thing ever.

However, in recent years, Jirah and her father have been spotted together more often, including a trip the two appeared to take to Italy.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. dad: Floyd Mayweather Sr.
Mayweather’s father, Floyd Mayweather Sr., was also a professional boxer from 1973 to 1990. He found at welterweight, and like his son, was known for his defensive strategies.
Mayweather Sr. often took Mayweather Jr. to train in boxing when he was growing up. While Mayweather Sr. has said that his son “wouldn’t be where he is today” without him, per the Mercury News, Mayweather Jr. has said that he “basically raised himself” and chose to drop out of school and knew he “was going to have to box to earn a living.”
Mayweather Sr. has also admitted that he often sold drugs to make a living, but he also insisted that he kept his kids separated and did so to give them better lives.
“Even though his daddy did sell drugs, I didn’t deprive my son,” Floyd Sr. said, per The Mercury News. “The drugs I sold, he was a part of it. He had plenty of food. He had the best clothes, and I gave him money. He didn’t want for anything. Anybody in Grand Rapids can tell you that I took care of my kids.”
Mayweather Sr. was a trainer for his son growing up, but he went to prison for over five years due to a drug-dealing conviction. When he returned, Mayweather Jr. was 14 fights into his professional career, and Mayweather Jr.’s uncle, Roger, took over as his trainer in 2000.
Mayweather Sr. has also been the trainer for boxers like Chad Dawson, Oscar De La Hoya, and Joan Guzman. He became the trainer for his son again for a brief period in 2006, but Roger once again took over, causing issues in the father-son relationship.
Once again in 2013, Mayweather Sr. became his son’s trainer for the rest of his career, which Floyd Jr. cited was due to Roger’s growing health issues.
Career boxing record
During his own boxing career, Floyd Mayweather Sr. had a record of 28-6-1, including 18 wins by knockout.

In 1978, he fought Sugar Ray Leonard, breaking his hand and getting knocked out. His boxing career ended not long after he was shot in the leg in a family dispute.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. uncle: Roger Mayweather
One of Mayweather Jr.’s two uncles, Roger, was also a professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 1999. He held the WBA and The Ring super featherweight titles from 1983 to 1984, the WBC light welterweight title from 1987 to 1989, the IBO light welterweight title in 1994, and the IBO welterweight title from 1994 to 1995.
Like Mayweather Sr., Roger Mayweather served as a trainer for Floyd Jr. for periods of his dominant career. Roger did so from 2000 to 2012.

He competed from 1988 to 1997, holding the IBO super featherweight title from 1994 to 1995. Also like his brothers, Jeff Mayweather became a trainer after his career. As of 2025, he is the trainer for Pakistani Boxer Muhammad Waseem.
