Cruzeiro lost to Ceará 2-1 in a comeback at Mineirão and saw its leadership in the Brasileirão seriously threatened.

The Fox stopped at 34 points. Flamengo will host Atlético-MG at 8:30 p.m. this Sunday (27th) and will take the lead if they do NOT lose.

Meanwhile, Ceará made a leap in the standings, jumping from 13th to ninth place, now with 21 points.

In a packed Mineirão, Cruzeiro even took the lead with Kaio Jorge after a BIZARRE mistake, but Galeano turned it around for Vozão.

Cruzeiro now focuses on the Round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil. The club will host CRB at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday (30th), at Mineirão.

The Fox’s next Brasileirão match will be against Botafogo, on Sunday (3rd), at 4 p.m., at Nilton Santos.

Meanwhile, Ceará will have the week free to train. The team returns to the pitch against Flamengo, on Sunday (3rd), at 6:30 p.m., at Castelão.

Cruzeiro didn’t even have to make much of an effort to take the lead. Just four minutes in, goalkeeper Bruno Ferreira made a huge mistake, and Kaio Jorge just tapped it into the empty net.

Ceará, however, managed to balance the game, started creating chances, and equalized at the 39th minute. Galeano took advantage of a cross and headed it in firmly.

Leonardo Jardim brought on Marquinhos and Gabigol. But Cruzeiro continued to struggle. Ceará took advantage and turned it around with another header from Galeano.

Cruzeiro pushed forward and fought until the end, but Ceará set up a defensive wall and secured three extremely important points.
