The Travelers Championship certainly won’t lack for star power this year, and the event received a commitment from another fan favorite on Tuesday.

Six-time PGA Tour winner Rickie Fowler has committed to the Travelers, the tournament announced. The 36-year-old has made seven starts at TPC River Highlands in his career, finishing tied for 20th last season.

He’s made nine starts on tour this season, with his best finish coming at the Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches, where he finished tied for 18th.

“Rickie has been a fan favorite for years, ever since he joined the PGA Tour,” said Travelers Executive Vice President Andy Bessette. “He has inspired a generation of kids through his success on the course, his approach, and his sense of style. He’ll have some of the biggest galleries at TPC River Highlands this year, and a lot of people will be rooting that he has a great week.”

Fowler first played in the Travelers Championship as an amateur in 2009 with a sponsor’s exemption. He also recorded the lowest round of his PGA Tour career in Cromwell in 2023, when he shot a 10-under-par 60 in the third round.

The Travelers Championship is once again a Signature Event on the PGA Tour, with a $20 million purse and $3.6 million going to the winner. The event will feature many of the world’s top players, including the top 10 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The event is set for June 18-22.
