What is this, a U.S. Women’s Open?

No, but the leaderboard sort of looks like one, as just three golfers are in red numbers after the first day of play and a stunning 26 golfers are at least 10 over par or worse.

Rookie Yana Wilson leads the Atlantic Beach Classic, the second event on the Epson Tour’s schedule, at 2 under but she was only through 15 holes Thursday when the first round was suspended.

The clubhouse co-leaders are Riley Smith, who won the tour’s 2025 season opener, and Bi Shin at 1 under in Atlantic Beach, Florida.

There were 120 golfers in the field when the tournament started but three have withdrawn. Just two are at even par so that means 112 golfers are over par.

The 54-hole event will have a 36-hole cut for top 60 and ties and the cut could be as high as 7 over. The conditions are similar to the windy elements the PGA Tour golfers are facing at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

Defending champion Briana Chacon is tied for 29th after a 4-over 75.

Wilson is one of nine players who will need to finish their first rounds Friday morning.
