The Eagles are looking for their first preseason win tonight. Or maybe they’re not. The final score is less important than the individual performances of a handful of players. This will be a real test for a bunch of rookies who are battling for fringe roster spots. Here’s what I am watching tonight!
Does Makai Lemon play?
Lemon was seen participating in a walkthrough for players playing in Friday’s game. The Eagles’ 2026 first-round pick has missed a lot of time this offseason due to injury. The team could be looking to get him some game experience on Friday night. It’ll be interesting to see how he fares.

No Eli Stowers
The rookie tight end is dealing with a hamstring injury. It’s a shame we won’t get to see him in this setting.
What is going to happen with these rookie safeties?
The Eagles have gotten some promising play from two rookie safeties: Kapena Gushiken and Maximus Pulley. Besides having kickass names, they’re both playing really well all over the Eagles secondary. Safety is probably the most precarious position on the roster, so another strong game from both first years could land them a roster spot and maybe some snaps early in their careers.
The international players
The Eagles have two defensive linemen who are playing their first minutes of football ever this summer. Uar Bernard and Joshua Weru came into camp with a lot of talent and no football experience to speak of. Both players have shown flashes through two weeks of preseason. Can both of these guys make the roster when the defensive line group is so deep? It’s hard to imagine, but they will both be playing hard tonight to prove they deserve a spot.
