Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries views tonight’s clash against Ajax as an opportunity to get back on track.
Speaking to InterTV vs FCInterNews, the Dutchman urged his teammates not to take the Lancers lightly.
These are uncertain times for new Inter Milan boss Cristian Chivu, who is already feeling the heat.
Indeed, the club’s recent results in Serie A have raised more than a few eyebrows.
Despite a dominant 5-0 win over Torino on day one, things have gone sideways.
Following a shock 2-1 home loss to Udinese, the Nerazzurri slipped to a 4-3 defeat at Juventus last weekend.
Therefore, last season’s runners-up already lag six points behind the Serie A pacesetters.
Furthermore, this is Inter’s worst top-flight start in 14 years, highlighting the amount of pressure on Chivu.
Meanwhile, Denzel Dumfries believes tonight’s match could be a turning point.
However, he insists Inter would be naive to take anything for granted.

If there’s an Inter player competent to talk about Ajax, it’s Dumfries.
Indeed, he played for PSV Eindhoven for three years before joining the Nerazzurri in 2021.
“I’ve played many matches in this stadium, and Ajax is a great club in the Netherlands,” the 29-year-old said.
“I expect a great atmosphere tomorrow. I’m happy to play here, but the important thing is to win. All my teammates are ready.”
Then, he warned Inter about Ajax’s technical prowess and deadly counter-attacks.
“Ajax play well with the ball and are technically strong,” Dumfries added. “We need to watch out for their counterattacks.
“We’ve talked about it and are ready for tomorrow.”
Finally, he highlighted the importance of taking three points in Amsterdam.
Asked whether this is Inter’s chance to return to winning ways, he replied: “Absolutely. Tomorrow we have to win.”
