Penn State quarterback Drew Allar suffered an apparent knee injury during Saturday’s win over Wisconsin that puts his availability for next week’s battle against No. 4 Ohio State in question.

Allar was seen walking off the field with a limp in the second quarter.

Allar came out of the tunnel for the second half and practiced throwing on the sideline, but did not return to the game. Backup quarterback Beau Pribula finished out the win in his stead.

Allar could be seen celebrating with his teammates after the game.

Allar had gone 14-of-18 for 148 yards and a touchdown prior to his injury.

Heading into Saturday the Penn State quarterback had completed a college career-high 70.5 percent of his passes through six games. His 1,492 passing yards, 11 touchdowns and four interceptions helped lead the Nittany Lions to a 6-0 season-opening record and a No. 3 ranking in the AP poll.

Now 7-0, Penn State is gearing up to host No. 4 Ohio State next Saturday.

Penn State has not won a game against Ohio State since October 2016, a contest highlighted by a Buckeyes field goal attempt that was returned for a game-winning touchdown in the final minutes of the game.

Since the Block Six, Penn State has dropped seven straight games to Ohio State.

The good news for the Nittany Lions is that their roster depth shone on Saturday night, as the Buckeyes were trailing by three points when Allar left the game.

Pribula then went 11-of-13 for 98 yards and a touchdown, adding 28 yards on six carries, while safety Jaylen Reed made key defensive plays in order to lead Penn State to victory.

Penn State’s chances of improving to 8-0 are highest if Allar is able to return. Should he be sidelined next Saturday, the Nittany Lions will need another big game from Pribula in order to get back on the winning side of the rivalry.
