The Cleveland Cavaliers got bad news Monday, but it’s not the worst case scenario. Donovan Mitchell did re-aggravate an ankle injury during the team’s 129-109 loss in Game 4 vs. the Indiana Pacers, but it’s possible he will play in Game 5.
Donovan is considered a game-time decision ahead of Game 5 on Tuesday, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.
Donovan left Sunday’s contest while warming up for the second half. While taking shots on the court, Donovan appeared to tweak his ankle. He did not play in the second half due to the injury. Mitchell finished the contest with 12 points.

After the game, Cavaliers coach Kenny Atkinson said Mitchell would undergo an MRI on Monday.
Mitchell was the Cavaliers’ best contributor during its series with the Pacers. Through four games, Mitchell is averaging 34 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He dropped 43 points in the Cavaliers’ Game 3 over the Pacers.
Injuries have defined the series. The Cavaliers were without Darius Garland, Evan Mobley, De’Andre Hunter during a Game 2 loss, which forced Mitchell to score 48 points in 35 minutes. The trio returned for Game 3, helping Mitchell lead the Cavaliers to a win.
Despite Mitchell’s production, the Cavaliers trail the series 3-1. If Mitchell is able to return for Tuesday’s game, he’ll be playing to keep the Cavaliers’ season alive.
