Shohei Ohtani has missed the last two games, just the second time he’s been out for multiple games with the Dodgers, along with a two-game stint on the paternity list in April 2025. But it looks like Ohtani will probably miss Saturday as well, which would mark his longest absence since coming to Los Angeles.

Manager Dave Roberts told reporters after Friday’s game that he didn’t expect Ohtani to be in the lineup on Saturday, but would check with him on Saturday afternoon.

Kyle Tucker homered in the sixth inning on Friday, just his third home run at Dodger Stadium this season, and his first since June 15 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Tucker went 33 full games and 113 plate appearances between home home runs, hitting .177/.306/.195 with seven RBI between long balls at Dodger Stadium.

Mark Walter got the Pablo Torre treatment on Friday, with the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast delving into the Dodgers chairman and owner currently under federal investigation for his insurance dealings.

Torre’s podcast was a good overview of some well-worn territory, including how the Dodgers ownership group led by Walter bought the team in 2012, and landed an historic $8.35 billion television contract with Time Warner.

Among the notable finds in the podcast was a deal between Walter, Magic Johnson, and the life insurance company EquiTrust, which in 2025 was sold to Amistad Financial, the latter one of a number of companies connected to Walter under investigation.

Here’s the full episode of Torre’s podcast on Walter and the Dodgers ownership group.
