In the final minutes of the third period of Sunday night’s game, New Jersey Devils’ Jack Hughes crashed into the boards behind Adin Hill’s net at T-Mobile Arena after colliding with Vegas Golden Knights’ forward Jack Eichel.

Training staff came onto the ice as Eichel remained near Hughes, his teammate during the 4 Nations Face-Off. The Devils’ star forward skated to the bench, hunched over in pain, and immediately went to the locker room. No penalty was called on the play.
After the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe did not have an update on Hughes, saying he will need to be evaluated.
Keefe on Jack: “Real hard to see him go down. There’s no update. He’s going to have to be evaluated. Obviously it didn’t look good. We’re gonna have to take our time to know the full extent of it.”#NJDevils
