“Back to business” and “R&R—Redemption & Respect”—two of the Detroit Lions’ biggest mantras this offseason—remain all talk.
Two games is an incredibly small sample size, and a short-road game serving as a stadium opener was far from ideal, but nothing about the start of the 2026 season has resembled the stretch from the second half of 2022 through the 2024 season. Dating back to the 45-31 2024 home playoff upset at the hands of the Washington Commanders, the Lions are 10-10 over their last 20 games across the past 20 months. They still haven’t separated themselves from the disappointing 2025 team that preceded them.
