Ryan Jamison who played college golf at DePaul, returns to his alma mater with 15 years of coaching experience and five seasons as a PGA Tour caddie.

DePaul has announced the hiring of Ryan Jamison as head men’s golf coach, a move that comes just one day after his final round working as a PGA Tour caddie.

Jamison, who played his college golf at DePaul, returns to his alma mater with 15 years of coaching experience and five seasons as a professional caddie on the PGA Tour.

Jamison most recently spent the past five years as a PGA Tour caddie for Akshay Bhatia, Quade Cummins, Isaiah Salinda, Justin Suh and Brandon Wu. He most recently looped at the just-concluded Genesis Scottish Open for Salinda on Sunday. He was on the bag for Bhatia when he won the 2024 Texas Valero Open.

“We are thrilled to welcome Ryan Jamison back home to DePaul as our new men’s golf head coach,” said Vice President and Director of Athletics Dwayne Peevy. “As an alumnus, championship-level coach and current PGA Tour caddie, Ryan brings a unique blend of elite experience and Blue Demon pride. He embodies the three qualities I value most in a leader – work ethic, passion and being a great teammate. I’m confident he will elevate our program and make an immediate impact on our student-athletes both on and off the course.”

“I’m incredibly honored and excited to return to my alma mater and lead the DePaul golf program,” said Jamison. “This university holds a special place in my heart and I’m deeply grateful to DeWayne Peevy, Peter Tombasco and the search committee for their belief in me and this opportunity. After my time as a caddie, I’m thrilled to bring that experience back into coaching and help grow a program I care so deeply about. I can’t wait to get started and build something special with our student-athletes and this wonderful university.”Jamison previously served three seasons as head coach at Florida Atlantic. Prior to FAU, Jamison spent two seasons at Stanford, helping the Cardinal reach back-to-back NCAA Men’s Golf Championship Finals. Jamison’s first head coaching role came at Nova Southeastern, where he led the program to the 2015 NCAA Division II National Championship. He was named the 2015 Division II Dave Williams National Coach of the Year.

He began his coaching career as an assistant at Nova Southeastern before returning to DePaul for two seasons as an assistant coach, helping the Blue Demons achieve their highest Big East Conference finish at the time in 2012.
