The NASCAR Cup Series competed at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and it was a calm event. There was only one natural caution with Connor Zilisch spinning, alongside the two stage cautions. Christopher Bell and William Byron won the first two stages; however, it was different Joe Gibbs Racing driver to enter victory lane.
Denny Hamlin and the No. 11 team for Joe Gibbs Racing won the Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas, earning their first victory of the 2026 Cup Series season. Hamlin, who had a pit-road speeding penalty at the end of Stage 1, had to climb his way through the field and then hold off a hard-charging Chase Elliott at the end.
It was a great drive by Hamlin, as the No. 11 team needed a winning run after a tough start to the 2026 NASCAR season. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver now has 61 career wins, breaking a tie with Kevin Harvick. Hamlin hopes to continue his strong runs at Darlington Raceway next weekend.
