Bayern Munich has won the first title of the season in German football.

The current Bundesliga champions beat Stuttgart and took home the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup trophy.

Harry Kane opened the scoring in the first half and Luis Diaz, making his official debut for the club, doubled the lead in the second.

Jamie Leweling scored for Stuttgart already in the final stage’s stoppage time.

The title extends Bayern’s lead as the tournament’s most successful team in history, with 11 titles.

The game took place in Stuttgart, but it was Bayern who started better, posing a threat to the attack in the early minutes.

Kane opened the scoring just 17 minutes into the game, after the opposing defense poorly cleared an attempted pass to the English striker.

The home team improved after the 1 x 0 and the game turned into a constant exchange of attacks.

Both teams lacked efficiency to convert some clear chances into goals.

In the second half, the pace of the match dropped, but Manuel Neuer still had to step up to prevent a draw.

The German goalkeeper made a great save on a Leweling shot that was deflected midway.

Shortly after, Bayern secured the victory with Luis Diaz, who received a cross from Serge Gnabry and headed it into the nets.

The Colombian paid tribute to Diogo Jota, repeating the celebration of his former Liverpool teammate.
