If you’re an athlete trying to get over the hump when it comes to winning a championship, there aren’t many better current or former players to speak with than Tom Brady and LeBron James.
Appearing on Kevin Hart’s Cold as Balls YouTube Show (starts at 5:50 mark), Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb said Brady and James are among the athletes he has spoken to about having a championship mindset and maintaining a competitive advantage no matter the circumstances.
Brady is the most accomplished player in NFL history with seven Super Bowl titles. Even in the years when his teams didn’t win a title, they were almost always on the doorstep. He played in the conference championship game 14 times in 23 seasons.
James has played in the NBA Finals 10 times in 22 seasons so far, winning four times. He’s also maintained a high level of play more than two decades into his career, having made the All-NBA team in each of the past 21 seasons.
Even though the Cowboys haven’t done a great job of managing their roster around some of their star players in recent years, but Lamb is doing everything in his power to make them a factor in the NFC.
Lamb has recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in each of the past four seasons. Even with some untimely drops in Week 1, he has recorded more than 100 yards in each of the first two games this season.
The Cowboys haven’t reached the NFC Championship Game since their last Super Bowl season in 1995. Their lone playoff win during Lamb’s career was against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what turned out to be Brady’s final game.
