The last time most of saw Garrick Higgo, he was missing the cut by a shot after being penalized two strokes for being late to his first-round tee time at the PGA Championship.
This week, he’s back as the defending champion of the PGA Tour’s opposite-fieldevent, the Corales Puntacana Championship, in the Dominican Republic.

Joel Dahmen could just as easily be defending a title at the event, if not for a dreadful bogey-bogey-bogey finish a year ago that opened the door for Higgo to snag the trophy.

Who’s in the field at the Corales Puntacana Championship?
Along with Higgo and Dahmen will be the two playoff participants from last week’s oppo event, at the ISCO Championship, where Steve Fisk outlasted Taylor Pendrith in the bonus golf portion of that event.
Also playing in the DR: Harry Higgs, Beau Hossler, Chan Kim, Cameron Champ, Austin Eckroat, Aaron Wise, Joe Highsmith, Jason Dufner, Luke Clanton, Adam Hadwin, Camilo Villegas, Davis Riley, Brandt Snedeker and Blades Brown. Bill Haas is in the field on a sponsor invite and is making his first start of 2026.

Adam Long is only in the field because Taylor Montgomery WD’d but that was after Montgomery got in only after Martin Laird WD’d but Laird only got in after Lee Hodges WD’d. So Long should thank Hodges, perhaps.

The winner gets $720,000 from the $4 million purse as well as 300 FedEx Cup points and a two-year PGA Tour exemption.
Where do they play the Corales Puntacana Championship?
Puntacana Resort & Club’s Corales Golf Course in the Dominican Republic is the host venue once again. It ranks No. 9 on the Golfweek’s Best list of the Top 50 courses in Mexico, Caribbean, Atlantic islands, Central America. This Tom Fazio-design opened in 2010 and will play at par 72 and measure 7,670 yards, making it one of the longest courses on the PGA Tour.
