Connor Zilisch’s long-rumored move to the NASCAR Cup Series is official.
Zilisch, 19, will join Trackhouse Racing full-time in the Cup Series in the 2026 season, the team announced on Aug. 23 at Daytona.
The Xfinity Series points leader will replace Daniel Suarez in the Trackhouse Cup Series fleet alongside Ross Chastain and Shane van Gisbergen.
The Charlotte, N.C. was credited with his seventh win of the Xfinity Series season in the Aug. 22 race at Daytona, though he was relieved by Parker Kligerman during the first caution. Kligerman drove the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet to victory later in the day.
Zilisch broke his collarbone two weeks ago while celebrating in victory lane following an Xfinity Series win at Watkins Glen.
There doesn’t appear to be too much turnover among the Cup Series full-time driver list in 2026, but Zilisch’s rookie season will be a major storyline next season.
