The Colorado Avalanche have assigned goaltender Trent Miner to the Colorado Eagles, it was announced Saturday.

Miner, a 2019 seventh round pick of the Avs, has made appearances at both the AHL and NHL levels this season. In two games with the Avalanche, Miner has a record of 0-1-0, a 2.62 GAA and a .879 SP. Over 19 appearances for the Eagles, he’s collected a record of 9-5-7 to go along with a 2.49 GAA and a .905 SP.

Having turned pro with the Avalanche organization in 2020, this is the first season where Miner has played in the NHL. Although last season was the first where Miner spent more time in the AHL than the ECHL, he made the transition look easy, establishing himself as an option to Avalanche management.

With Miner being sent down, he will be afforded the opportunity to see regular playing time and continue to develop. As someone who has come a long way since turning pro, Miner adds to Colorado’s depth in net and should only get more looks in the future.
