Week 12 of the 2024 college football season features plenty of games with major implications on both individual conference races and the scramble for the 12-team College Football Playoff. Though there are only two games between ranked opponents, quite a few games beyond that scope bear paying attention to.
Pittsburgh can keep its ACC Championship Game hopes alive at noon as it hosts No. 20 Clemson, which got back in the win column a week ago against Virginia Tech. At the same time, No. 17 Colorado — which has emerged as a legitimate Big 12 favorite — can solidify its status against a struggling Utah team that was voted No. 1 in the preseason Big 12 media poll.
At 3:30, No. 4 Penn State will look to keep its momentum rolling on the road against Purdue, while No. 8 Notre Dame will get an underrated test against Virginia. The Cavaliers upset Pittsburgh in Week 11 to give coach Tony Elliott another ranked win.
The evening slate brings to biggest game of the day. No. 7 Tennessee travels to No. 12 Georgia in a crucial game for the SEC and the College Football Playoff at-large standings.
