No. 1 Texas will play its biggest game of the regular season when it hosts No. 5 Georgia on Saturday night during the Week 8 college football schedule. The Longhorns extended their unbeaten start to the season when they cruised to a 34-3 win at then-No. 18 Oklahoma last week. They are 3.5-point home favorites in the Week 8 college football odds, as Georgia tries to avoid its second loss of the campaign. Which team should you back in that SEC showdown when you place your Week 8 college football bets?

Another key game within the SEC pits No. 11 Tennessee (+2.5) vs. No. 7 Alabama in a rivalry matchup on Saturday afternoon in Knoxville. The Vols bounced back from a loss to Arkansas with an overtime win against Florida last week, but they have failed to cover the spread in back-to-back games. Before locking in any Week 8 college football picks on those games or others, be sure to see the latest college football predictions from SportsLine’s proven model.

The model simulates every FBS college football game 10,000 times. Since its inception, it has generated a betting profit of well over $2,000 for $100 players on its top-rated college spread football picks, and it is a sizzling 12-5 on all top-rated picks over the past three weeks of this season. Anyone who has followed it has seen strong returns.

Now, it has turned its attention to the latest college football odds and Week 8 college football betting lines. Head here to see every pick.

Top college football predictions for Week 8

One of the college picks the model is high on during Week 8: No. 8 LSU (-3) notches a road win over Arkansas in a 7 p.m. ET matchup on Saturday. The Tigers opened the season with a loss to USC in Las Vegas, but they have won five straight games since then to get into the thick of the College Football Playoff hunt. They were 4-point home underdogs in their 29-26 overtime win against then-No. 9 Ole Miss last week, as junior quarterback Garrett Nussmeier had 337 passing yards and three touchdowns.

LSU has already picked up one road win in conference play, beating South Carolina in front of a raucous crowd in mid-September. Arkansas is coming off an upset win over then-No. 4 Tennessee, but it has also lost a pair of games to ranked opponents this season. SportsLine’s model anticipates another loss for the Razorbacks on Saturday, as LSU is covering the spread in over 60% of the latest simulations. Another prediction: No. 21 SMU (-14.5) cruises to a blowout win at Stanford in an 8 p.m. ET kickoff on Saturday. The Mustangs have been extremely impressive in their last three games, blowing out TCU and Florida State at home before taking down then-No. 22 Louisville as 6.5-point underdogs. Sophomore quarterback Kevin Jennings completed 21 of 27 passes for 281 yards while rushing 10 times for 114 yards and a touchdown against the Cardinals.

Jennings has completed 66.7% of his passes for 1,014 yards, six touchdowns and one interception this season, and he has also rushed for 262 yards and two scores. SMU had an extra week to prepare for this game following the win over the Cardinals, while Stanford has lost three straight games by 24-plus points. The Cardinal did not score more than 14 points in each of those outings, and their lack of firepower is one reason why SMU is covering 70% of the time. See picks for every other game in Week 8 here.
