PIKETON — The Clay High School boys golf team captured its season-opening match on Monday, playing host to a triangular affair involving itself, Western and Northwest at Big Beaver Creek Golf Club.
Clay fired a team total of 192, while Western was next at 205 —and Northwest checking in at 216.
Evan Rider of Clay claimed match medalist honors with a 44, as Panther freshman Bryce Whitley was runner-up to his teammate with a 45.
Western was led by Foster Davis with a 48, as the Mohawks’ low man was Peyton Wolfe with a 49.
The Panthers play at Jackson’s Franklin Valley Golf Club for their next match on Wednesday.
