Claressa Shields looks to make it a homecoming to remember when she faces Danielle Perkins in Flint, Michigan to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion.

Shields (15-0) has held gold in multiple weight classes. The self-proclaimed “G.W.O.A.T.” has proven her worth as a two-time Olympic gold medalist and two-division undisputed champion. Born in Flint, she looks to become undisputed in a third division, which would further cement her status as a pound-for-pound great.
Perkins (5-0) took two years off from action and returned in 2024. The two-time World Championships medalist and former basketball player looks to win three straight since heading back into the ring.

Against Shields, Perkins will have a slight height advantage and is a natural heavyweight. While she hasn’t boxed at the pro level long, she is still a force. Still, Shields is confident in her abilities and believes she will outwork the Brooklyn-born fighter.
“I see her being exactly what you see, taller and stronger,” Shields said on Ariel x Ade: The Boxing Show via DAZN. “That doesn’t mean she’s going to win the boxing match. She’s up against the best. In myself, she’s up against somebody who can punch, somebody who has got great defense, somebody who has got great offense.
“I don’t adjust round-by-round, I adjust inside the round. She’s up against a lot of experience.”
