Chris Eubank Sr. has sent a scathing message directly to his estranged son, Chris Eubank Jr., calling him a disgrace for his recent actions.

35-year-old Chris Eubank Jr. (34-3, 25 KOs) is preparing to fight British rival Conor Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) on April 26 at the 62,850-capacity Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London.

In the build-up to the grudge match, which will reignite the iconic Eubank-Benn rivalry from the 1990s, Eubank Jr. smashed an egg on Benn’s face when they met at a press conference to formally launch the fight. The Brighton boxer subsequently received a £100,000 fine from the BBBofC for his unacceptable actions.

The violent act, deliberately designed to create viral social media engagement, was largely disapproved of by most. And, seemingly, Eubank Sr. was among the crowd in disagreement with the deed, too.

The 58-year-old former two-weight world champion sent this frank message directly to his first-born, “How could you do that to them? I know you have, what, two children? How could you do that to them? Because they’re going to listen to you when they say, ‘Well, if dad does it, then I can do it’.

“Junior, you’re smashing an egg against this guy’s [Conor Benn] face… I taught you that? I didn’t teach you that. Who taught you that? Did Karen [Jr’s mother] teach you that? Who taught you that?

“That’s disgraceful! I’m gonna stand in your corner? You must be mad! You must be mad! I would never be in your corner, you’re a disgrace!

“You’re smashing an egg in someone’s face and then you’re trying to justify that. There’s no justification for that, there’s nothing noble about that.”

Eubank Jr. has explained already how the rift between him and his father originally begun. The Brighton boxer wanted to step out of his father’s shadow, which wasn’t taken well, coupled with the fact that the pair were not seeing eye to eye anyway.

Eubank Jr. claimed that “destroyed a large part of the relationship and it still hasn’t recovered.”

His father has also never approved of his fight with career-welterweight Conor Benn, publicly sharing his distaste in the catchweight and rehydration clauses, fearing for his son’s safety.

Then, there were doping issues when the 28-year-old Benn failed two drug tests in the lead-up to their first fight date in October 2022, which was cancelled on fight week.

Now, they fight over 12-rounds at middleweight, with the bigger boxer, Eubank, legally restricted to rehydrating to 170lbs only.

Eubank Jr. candidly commented, “He’s my old man. It doesn’t matter if I don’t talk to him until the day I die. I’m always gonna love him.”

Eubank-Benn takes place on a Ring Magazine event, live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN PPV.

The pay-per-view cost is £19.95.

On the undercard, Anthony Yarde and Lyndon Arthur clash in a light-heavyweight trilogy decider, and former Eubank Jr. opponent Liam Smith tackles unbeaten middleweight prospect Aaron McKenna.

Chris Billam-Smith vs Brandon Glanton and Viddal Riley vs Cheavon Clarke complete the five-fight card.
