Chris Eubank Jr has made good on his promise to pay all the undercard boxers whose fights were cancelled just two days before, back in October 2022.
Eubank and Benn were due to fight on October 8, 2022, in London, but the entire event was cancelled on October 6, leaving all the combatants out of pocket, which the Brighton boxer has now generously made amends for.
The Brighton boxer shared a screenshot of his bank account which clearly displayed 10 separate transactions of £3571.43 to the following boxers:
Felix Cash
Harlem Eubank
Connor Coyle
Matty Harris
Mary Romero
Chloe Watson
Shannon Courtenay
Galal Yafai
Ellie Scotney
Lyndon Arthur
Chris Eubank Jr
The 35-year-old two-weight IBO world champion commented, “From my purse for this fight I will be giving £50,000 to the fighters on that undercard to split between them to cover some of their losses.
“I’m not doing this for awards. I hope Eddie and Conor both put up theirs own £50,000.”
Unified super-bantamweight champion Ellie Scotney confirmed the news, “Just checked my Eu-BANK statement and Chris was as good as his word. Thank you.”
Former IBO world light-heavyweight champion, Lyndon Arthur, also gave thanks, “Got to respect Eubank Jr. He actually paid what he said he would.”
Eubank Jr is preparing to finally fight his ‘Born Rival’ Conor Benn on April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium in London, live on Sky Sports Box Office and DAZN PPV.
The next generation will reignite the family feud that first begun with their warring fathers in the 1990s.
