Green has been very much one of the pioneers of Chelsea Women FC. He joined the club in 2013 in the early days of the WSL and helped build Chelsea’s success from the basic foundations, alongside legendary former manager Emma Hayes. With Green and Hayes at the forefront, Chelsea gradually transformed into a full-time professional team that went on to dominate domestic football in England while they also became a major force on the European stage.
While Hayes brought coaching expertise to Chelsea, Green was often seen as the off-field brains behind the operation. He initially occupied a General Manager position before moving into a Head of Women’s Football role.
During his time working with Chelsea, Green has seen The Blues win 19 domestic trophies, including eight Barclays Women’s Super League titles while the club were UEFA Women’s Champions League runners-up in 2020/2021. Of the 19 trophies won, 16 of those came when Green worked closely with Hayes. The other three came under Sonia Bompastor’s leadership in 2024/2025.
Green leaves Chelsea with the club’s best wishes for the future.
