Chandler Smith bested Corey Heim on a restart with seven laps to go to win Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Smith took the lead on a restart at Lap 237 of 250, beating Heim to the nearest scoring loop as chaos ensued, due to a stack-up stemming from Bayley Currey behind them.

Kyle Larson recovered from a pit-road penalty and got past Heim for second. Heim ended up third with Tyler Ankrum and Ben Rhodes completing the top five. Layne Riggs, Jake Garcia, Kaden Honeycutt, Rajah Caruth and Gio Ruggiero rounded out the top 10.

Currey ultimately finished 23rd, 13 laps off the pace, but not before leading 14 laps and recording his first career stage win in Stage 2.

At Lap 53, Ty Majeski made contact with Frankie Muniz as Majeski ran third, also claiming Xfinity Series regular Brandon Jones and Stewart Friesen. Majeski couldn’t continue and finished outside the top 10 for the third consecutive race.

The Craftsman Truck Series returns next week (Fri., 5 p.m. ET, FS1, NASCAR Racing Network Radio, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio) with its first visit to Rockingham Speedway in 12 years.
