Gian Piero Gasperini has made it a priority for Roma to renew their expiring contracts and retain the core team that secured Champions League qualification.

The Giallorossi have not sold anyone despite the settlement agreement with UEFA and are preparing to announce their renewals.

The first will be Zeki Celik. The Turk will sign a new deal that will tie him back to the Roman club.
As reported by Filippo Biafora, the club reached an agreement with the 1997-born player weeks ago, and an announcement confirming the full-back’s permanence is expected in the next few hours.
Gasperini pushed for Celik’s permanence primarily because of his versatility. Roma will likely look for a new right-back in the transfer market, or a left-back should Wesley return to his original position, and will demote the Turk along with him.
However, the 1997-born player would remain a viable option on the flanks.

Details on the deal’s price or duration have not yet been revealed. At the start of negotiations, the player’s entourage had requested around €4 million, and the final agreement likely came with a slightly lower offer.
The Turkish international still benefits from the Growth Decree, and this detail helped the club reach a final agreement. Paulo Dybala will be next.
