It took Canelo (63-2-2) eleven months to become undisputed super middleweight champion for the first time. He beat William Scull in March 2025 to become undisputed twice at 168. Canelo has beaten a who’s who of fighters to earn gold over the years.

Signing a lucrative deal with Riyadh Season, the Mexican warrior looks to continue to entertain. He’s set to face off against former undisputed champion Terence Crawford on September 13, 2025.

Per Celebrity Net Worth, Canelo Alvarez has a net worth of around $300 million. 

In 2018, he signed a $365 million contract with DAZN and Golden Boy. Eventually, Canelo filed a lawsuit, accusing both of a breach of contract. He requested damages of up to $280 million following disagreements of potential opponents and payments, leaving the platform.

Canelo returned to DAZN and fought Dmitry Bivol and Gennadiy Golovkin after signing a near-$85 million deal. He signed a three-fight, $100 million deal with Premier Boxing Champions. 

Canelo recently signed with Riyadh Season. The deal with Turki Alalshikh includes 4-5 fights under a $400 million contract.

Losing against Dmitry Bivol for light heavyweight gold, Canelo had a guaranteed purse of $15 million.

Canelo earned $40 million in the first fight against Gennadiy Golovkin and $30 million in the rematch, per Celebrity Net Worth. In the trilogy fight, he earned about $45 million, and his salary reportedly reached $100 million following PPV sales. 

Facing Jermell Charlo while with Premier Boxing Champions, he made about $25-$30 million. Per Dan Rafael, Canelo made about $35 million against Jaime Munguia. 

Per Marca, it’s rumored Canelo made about $80-$100 million for his fight against William Scull under the Riyadh Season banner.

In 2021, Forbes had Canelo as the 48th highest-paid athlete. It was estimated he earned $2 million from endorsements. Forbes ranked him fifth in 2023, with $10 million coming from endorsements.

In 2025, Canelo was ranked 22nd. 

Canelo has worked with brands such as Under Armour and Tecate, a Mexican beer company.
