Can You Guess Which Driver Dale Jr. Says Is Just Like His Dad? originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. has never been shy about comparing today’s NASCAR drivers to his legendary father. During a recent chat on Prime Video, he dropped some names that really got fans talking.

The biggest surprise? He thinks 22-year-old Carson Hocevar is like a young Dale Earnhardt. “People are probably gonna go crazy over this one,” Junior said. He likes how Hocevar races hard and doesn’t apologize for it.

Hocevar’s current Cup Series season has been marked by bold moves and high-profile clashes, including a recent incident with Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at Nashville. Junior acknowledged the young driver’s mistakes but admired his unapologetic approach to racing.

Junior was pretty blunt about what he saw during that Nashville incident. He said Hocevar could have given Stenhouse more room but chose not to. Still, he likes how the young driver races his own way and doesn’t back down.

Ross Chastain was another name Junior mentioned. “Ross Chastain reminds me a lot of Dad,” he said straight up. Chastain races people really hard and makes them uncomfortable out there, just like Dale Sr. used to do.

Joey Logano got a mention too. Junior pointed out how Logano isn’t afraid to bump people or run them up the track when he needs to win. That takes guts and it’s exactly what his father would have done.

Junior knows nobody today races exactly like his dad did. But he’s happy to see drivers who aren’t scared to make enemies or race with an edge. That aggressive, no-fear attitude that made Dale Earnhardt Sr. famous is still alive in NASCAR today.
