Perhaps it isn’t something to be alarmed about yet, but New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo indicated during Monday’s Town Hall event at the Bergen Theatre that he isn’t as far along in his return from last season’s devastating leg injury as might have been hoped.
“I’m a little ways off, not too far, but I’ll be ready to go,” Skattebo said. “Week 1, I’ll be ready to go.”
Skattebo sustained a dislocated ankle and other injuries in Week 8 last season against the Philadelphia Eagles. At John Harbaugh’s introductory press conference, GM Joe Schoen had expressed a belief that Skattebo would be on the field this spring.

“He’ll be fine,” Schoen said. “He’ll actually be prepared for the offseason program on April 6th. He should be good.”
Perhaps he will be, but that news indicates that we might not see Skattebo on the field this week when the Giants begin OTAs, the on-field portion of the offseason program.
