Bryson DeChambeau Delivers Bold Statement originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

You could hear it in his voice, Bryson DeChambeau is fed up. Not just with finishing behind the leaders, not just with missing out on trophies, but with Team USA falling short again in the Ryder Cup.

DeChambeau got a good 64 in the final round of the British Open on Sunday, surging into a tie for second by the time he walked off the 18th at Royal Portrush. While the leaders still battled it out on the back nine, DeChambeau had already shifted his focus elsewhere.

“I hope I can bring a lot of energy,” he said when asked about this year’s Ryder Cup. “And a tsunami of a crowd that’s going to be rooting for Team USA.”

That Ryder Cup message? It’s loud and personal.

According to Sports Illustrated, U.S. captain Keegan Bradley confirmed that DeChambeau will be part of the 2025 Ryder Cup team this September at Bethpage Black in New York. DeChambeau didn’t need to plead his case. He let his clubs do the talking, and now he’s got his eyes locked on a red, white and blue mission.

When asked if he had connected with Bradley this week, DeChambeau nodded.

“He put something in our lockers that was pretty inspirational,” he said. “It’s personal… It meant a lot. This year’s no joke. We’re tired of it. We’re tired of losing.”

The U.S. has dropped five of the last seven Ryder Cups. The loss in Rome in 2023 still stings. For DeChambeau, Bethpage isn’t just a venue. It’s a chance at redemption.

And if his Sunday charge in Portrush was any indication, he’s not just ready, he’s coming in hot.
