Despite a late surge, the Los Angeles Lakers remained winless this preseason with a 111-103 loss to the Golden State Warriors on Sunday.

The Lakers outscored the Warriors 23-9 in the fourth quarter, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a deficit that was as high as 24 points.

Lakers second-year guard Bronny James made minimal contributions in the loss, recording five points, two rebounds, two assists and a steal in 22 minutes of action. He had an emphatic putback slam in the fourth quarter.

James’ 2024 draft classmate Dalton Knecht had 12 points, and rookie RJ Davis added 11 points. Starting point guard Gabe Vincent led the team with 16 points. Lakers stars LeBron James and Luka Doncic sat out for the second straight game.

Warriors star guard Stephen Curry wasn’t on the floor for long, but he poured in 14 points on 5-of-7 shooting in 15 minutes. Moses Moody led Golden State with 19 points.

Fans on social media had a lot to say about the Lakers’ lackluster showing in Sunday’s game:

The Lakers will have a week to regroup before meeting the Warriors once again next Sunday.
