Bronny James caught fire in the first quarter of the South Bay Lakers’ G League home game against the Valley Suns on Friday evening, scoring 10 points on 4-of-6 shooting, including a pair of three-pointers.
James, a two-way player who makes appearances for the NBA’s Lakers and their G-League squad, was active in the early going. He hit a stepback jumper on the baseline before nailing a three-pointer from the elbow to give the Lakers an early 10-3 lead.
He cooled off a bit in the second quarter but hit another floater with three minutes left. For the half, James finished with 12 points, four rebounds, two assists and a steal.
Overall, it was a good start to the game, and fans noted his solid effort.

James has fared quite well during the G League regular season, averaging 21.3 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 4.8 APG and 2.3 SPG. Friday was another example of the rookie showcasing his talents as he authored another impressive game.
